Every year the best students of the city schools receive scholarships from the president of Ełk for their academic performance and social activity.

The scholarship award ceremony took place today (23 November) in the conference room of the Office City of Ełk at 16.00.

Scholarships are awarded to financially support students of urban primary schools (classes V-VIII) and the High School in the Sports School Complex, who exhibit significant socially useful activity and achieve very good academic performance.

For the scholarship period from 1 September to 31 December In 2022, 55 applications were received.

25 scholarships were awarded:

• Primary School No. 1 in Ełk - 2
• Danuta Siedzikówna Primary School No. 2 "Inki" in Ełk - 2
• H. Sienkiewicz Primary School No. 3 in Ełk - 2
• Primary School No. 4 named after Prof. Wł. Szafera in Ełk - 9
• Primary School No. 5 named after M. Konopnicka in Ełk - 2
• Sports Primary School No. 6 in the School Complex Sports in Ełk - 2
• Primary School No. 7 with Integration Classes in Ełk - 2
• John Paul II Primary School No. 9 in Ełk – 4

The total amount of scholarships awarded is PLN 17,800.

The scholarship can be awarded to a student who:

- is active and involved in the activity social welfare for the local, school and peer environment,

- achieves very good academic results (average for last school year - not less than 4.5 and at least a good grade with behavior).

With an application for a scholarship for a student can occur:

- school head, parents' council, parents

- foundations, associations, organizations and others entities supporting or implementing educational activities for the benefit of pupils

Scholarships have a value of PLN 150 (classes V and VI) and 200 PLN (classes VII and VIII) per month and will be paid directly in schools.
