Mayor of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz with co-workers prepared and presented to the City Council of Ełk in the middle November Draft city budget for 2023. Today, the councillors adopted the budget for next year. Earlier, the draft budget received a positive opinion from Regional Chamber of Auditors, which confirms the correct preparation of the document and received a favourable opinion from the Committee on Budgets.

The president thanked the councillors for adopting the budget for the year 2023 and declared its willingness to cooperate in its implementation.

-Thank you for the adoption of the 2023 budget, I declare that, whatever the decision taken, by individuals, I will want to cooperate in the implementation of the budget with every lady and a councillor, because this budget concerns all residents Ełk, regardless of who has views – said the president of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz.

The vote was preceded by a discussion during which the councillors expressed their comments and opinions on the budget.

-Thank you for those voices that are being heard today. Forecasting and planning in the conditions in which we operate, uncertainty, complexity, dynamic changes resulting from the environment is extremely difficult (...) I assume that next year we will make changes that will be resulted from the needs of the residents of Ełk, because it is a flexible document, which we change many times a year. In this budget, we have just tried to reflect, where possible, the needs of residents, and these needs They are very different and you have to respect that. - he said during today's session of the president of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz.

The budget of the city of Ełk for 2023 adopted by the councilors Includes:

Income total: PLN 335 million

• Income current: PLN 264 million
• Income property: PLN 71.1 million

Expenditure total: PLN 394.6 million

• expenditure current: PLN 302.7 million
• expenditure property and investment: PLN 91.9 million

Amid The planned investments for 2023 are m.in.:

• thermal modernization of buildings SP 7, SP 4, Kindergartens "Ekoludki" and Nursery No. 1,
• replacement of street lighting with energy-saving - LED,
• purchase of 5 electric buses,
• construction of Norwida street on the section from ul. Kościuszki to the exit roundabout to the tunnel under the tracks near the cemetery,
• reconstruction of Sikorskiego Street on the section from ul. Polish Army to PKP tracks,
• creation of new nursery places in Ełk and construction of a playground at the Municipal Nursery No. 2,
• equipping the laboratory with new computers and multimedia boards in primary schools,
• construction of a car park at 11 listopada Street,
• reconstruction of the road (Spacerowa, Wiosenna Street and Szczęsny),
• construction of a public municipal road together with utilities to investment areas in the area of Bema Street,
• modernization of road infrastructure in within the Suwałki Special Economic Zone, Ełk Subzone,
• construction of a multi-family building at ul. Railway
• reconstruction of the playground at the School Primary No. 2 in Ełk,
• road hardening with land drainage at Toruńska 6-8 and garages at 13 Piłsudskiego Street.

In The budget also includes funding for the preparation of projects technical documentation on m.in.

• reconstruction of Koszykowa Street, Słowackiego Street, Kolejowa Street,
• the bridge at Zamkowa Street and footbridges at Stary Rynek Street and at the mouth of the Ełk River to the lake,
• thermal modernization of buildings SP 1, Kindergartens "Fairy Tale", and the Center for Environmental Education.
