The President of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz awarded the White Lily Awards for the seventh time. The idea is to distinguish people who in a special way with their daily work, activity and commitment serve the city and its residents, contributing to the promotion of Ełk.

The awards are granted to individuals, legal entities and other entities for special achievements in the previous calendar year or for lifetime achievement in one of eight categories:
1. Patron of Sport,
2. Athlete of the Year,
3. Artistic Award,
4. Patron of Culture,
5. Ambassador of Elk,
6. Entrepreneur of the Year,
7. An attitude worthy of imitation,
8. Special Prize.

The submitted applications were considered by the Chapter appointed for this purpose by the President. This year's Chapter consisted of:
• Prof. Maria Terlecka (President of the Chapter) – Laureate of the White Lily Award 2009 in the category of Patron of Culture
• Mr. Artur Urbański – Deputy Mayor of Ełk.
• Mr. Stefan Węgłowski – Chairman of the Ełk City Council.
• Mr. Edward Palczewski – President of Przedsiębiorstwo Gospodarki Odpadami "Eko-Mazury" Sp. Z. o.o. – The company was the winner of the White Lily Award 2011 in the Special Award category.
• Mr. Remigiusz Karpiński – Winner of the White Lily Award 2010 in the category of Patron of Sport.
• Mr. Nikodem Kemicer – Winner of the White Lily Award 2011 in the category of Attitude Worthy of Imitation.

The jury awarded 15 nominations. The winners and honored were awarded during the White Lily Awards 2012 gala, which took place on December 10 at the Ełk Cultural Center.

During the gala, the Ełk Chamber of Commerce also honored the president of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz in recognition of his efforts and commitment to activities for the benefit of Ełk entrepreneurs, including the improvement of infrastructure and investor service, activities conducive to creating new jobs and increasing the investment attractiveness of the city.
