World Day of Social Justice

February 20 is celebrated World
Social Justice Day, which aims to promote activities for
reducing poverty, social exclusion and unemployment. First celebrations
were held in 2009.
Assembly The UN General at its 62nd session in November 2007 declared 20 February - World Social Justice Day. 192 members of the Assembly accepted unanimously a resolution calling on member states to dedicate this A day to promote initiatives undertaken by the international community m.in. on combating poverty, social exclusion, access to benefits social issues or the promotion of full and decent employment. Member States have pledged to promote such activities because these are problems with which Too many citizens are struggling.
