Presentation of scholarships and sports awards

President of Elk He awarded 15 scholarships and an award to the best Ełk athletes and coaches. The award ceremony took place today (February 24, 2023) at the City Hall.

The scholarship is a form of material support for players and coaches, enabling the development of a sports career. It is awarded in recognition of the level of sport presented by players and coaches and achievements in a given discipline on the national and international arena.

In the call for proposals conducted until 30 December 2022, 24 applications for sports scholarships and 3 applications for prizes were received. After reviewing the recommendation of the team for sports scholarships and awards, the president of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz awarded: 15 scholarships (12 players and 3 coaches) for the period February – June 2023 and 1 sports award. A total of PLN 47,750 was spent for this purpose. Scholarships and awards were presented today by Deputy Mayor Artur Urbański during a meeting in the city hall.

In the budget of the city of Ełk for 2023, a total amount of PLN 90,000 is planned: PLN 80,000 for scholarships, PLN 10,000 for prizes. Applications for sports scholarships can be submitted on two dates: in June and December, while applications for sports awards and distinctions can be submitted throughout the year.
