This year, the local government of Ełk resumes meetings educational and health. Today (31 March) the V Oncology Forum took place "How important is cancer prevention and how important are vaccination against human papillomavirus HPV', which provides an opportunity to talks about cancer prevention and treatment.

Participants took part in a debate serving broadening knowledge in the field of cancer prevention and vaccinations prophylactic agents against human papillomavirus (HPV).

Apart from the residents of Ełk, the forum was attended by m.in representatives of Municipal Hospital "Pro-Medica", Foundation "Reha-Vitae", Community Self-Help House in Ełk and the Municipal Social Welfare Center in Ełk, Association Ełk Amazons, as well as the District Family Assistance Center in Ełk. Present he was also Chairman of the Committee on Family, Health and Safety Public City Council of Ełk.

The host of the V Oncology Forum was the President Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz, who initiated the organization of this event.

The forum was attended by representatives of units education, m.in UWM – Branch in Ełk, primary and secondary schools and nurseries.

The guest of the fifth edition of the educational conference was Dr. Łukasz Durajski - doctor specializing in the field of paediatrics in Department of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology of the Institute "Monument – Center Children's Health" in Warsaw, host of the TVN Style program "Pogromcy Medical Myths", multiple guest of television programs, author of the blog "Doktorek Radzi" and the first guide for parents written by pediatrician "Your Child's Health" and author of the book "Co Na To Lekarz - myths transmitted by whispered means."

Nursing students present at the forum – The UWM branch in Ełk in cooperation with the SCANMED Group performed measurements basic vital signs, while providing participants with knowledge on healthy habits in everyday life.

Forum participants had the opportunity to take advantage of advice on cancer prevention provided by the Association Ełk Amazons, as well as from the advice of physiotherapist specialists from Ełk "Pro-Medica" hospital and the Foundation for Disability Prevention and Promotion Health at the Rehabilitation Department of the Hospital in Ełk "Reha-Vitae".
