85th anniversary of the birth of Zofia Nasierowska

Today – On 24 April, on the 85th anniversary of our birth, we commemorate an extraordinary A person, one of the most outstanding Polish photographers, associated with with our city since the 90s of the twentieth century, patron of the City Library Public in Ełk – ZOFIA NASIEROWSKA.
Sophie Nasierowska started photographing at the age of seven, at the age of 11 She had her first photographic exhibition. She specialized in in landscape and reportage, but she achieved true mastery in the portrait. She is the author of photographs of well-known figures from the world of theater, film, art, intellectuals.
Sophie Nasierowska lived in the vicinity of Ełk for over 20 years, very engaging during this time in the cultural life of the capital of Masuria. In In 2009, she received the White Lily Award in the Ambassador category Elk.
