In Ełk a number of activities are implemented under the "Support Corps for Seniors" programme on 2023 consisting of:

-help and support for seniors through support social, assistance in everyday activities provided by social workers and volunteers,

- Ensuring access to the so-called "distance care" through access to wristbands equipped with the following features:

about   button safety – SOS signal,

about   detector Fall

about   sensor photos of the wristband/device,

about   locator GPS

about   Features enabling communication with the service center and caregivers,

about   Features monitoring basic vital signs (pulse and saturation).

"Wristband security" is connected to the service aid operator – in the event of a difficult situation or sudden threat Pressing the alarm button on the device allows connection to the central office that is always ready to intervene.

Currently available 50 people are provided for wristbands, this year the group will increase by 10 people, and thus a total of "distance care" will be covered by 60 people Ełk seniors.

The program is addressed to seniors aged 65 and over who have problems functioning independently with on health grounds, running independent households, or living with loved ones who are unable to provide them sufficient support.

Action include two modules of this year's edition of the "Senior Support Corps" program:

Module I consists in providing support services for seniors aged 65 and over, to the extent specified in program and resulting from recognized needs

Module II is about improving safety and the possibility of independent functioning in the place of residence for the elderly by increasing access to so-called 'distance care'.

Implementation The program is coordinated by MOPS and ECRS STAJNIA. The program is implemented in cooperation with with volunteers, including volunteers from the Seniors-Seniors group.

The program is co-financed from the state budget and is implemented until the end of 2023 year, funding in the amount of PLN 21,624 was obtained for its purpose, contribution own Municipality of the City of Ełk 5 407 PLN (Module I: co-financing 6 813 PLN, own contribution PLN 1,704; Module II: co-financing PLN 14 811, contribution own 3 703 PLN).

This year's The edition of the programme is a continuation of the implementation co-financed from the funds from the state budget, the "Support Corps for Seniors" program, which in previous years, it was financed in 100% from the programme's resources counteracting COVID-19.
