On November 16, 2023, the city entered into an agreement with contractor, as part of which at 1 Kajki Street in Ełk an active pedestrian crossing using the SmartPass system.

SmartPass has elements synchronized with each other, i.e.: motion sensor, spot reflectors, early warning lamps. The introduction of the system is aimed at m.in. reducing the number of collisions and reducing the speed of moving cars.

The scope of the agreement includes:

- construction of active point elements in the roadway reflective LEDs with power cables 14 pcs.,

- construction of active D-6 signs with warning lamps fi 200mm of yellow colour, placed above the existing vertical marking D-6, SmartPass housings, motion sensors, sound modules, radar modules and cameras - 2 pcs.,

- construction of a control cabinet with a battery and cables power supply and control systems to active D-6 points and signs,

- painting of thick-layer structural markings (white and red lines P10).

At the end of November, the land for the construction of the Work.

Completion date: 25.04.2024

Value of works: PLN 90,054.45 – contract with the contractor

Co-financing in the amount of PLN 72,043.56 constitutes 80% expenditures, comes from the Government Road Development Fund as part of the improvement of safety of vulnerable road users

In Ełk there are currently 11 active crossings for pedestrians using the SmartPass system and 8 active bicycle paths SmartPass Bike, which improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists on the streets of Ełk.
