On December 13, 1981, by decision I Secretary of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party and Prime Minister General Wojciech Jaruzelski and the Martial law was introduced in Poland.

The Military Rescue Council took power in the country National Assembly (WRONA) under the leadership of General Jaruzelski. Introduction martial law was justified by the economic collapse of the country, the threat of anarchy, civil war and the seizure of power by "Solidarity", in fact he had to defend the existing system by dismantling and dismantling "Solidarity" as a great social force independent of the government Communist. This far-reaching event cast a shadow over the the recent history of Polish. To this day, it remains the subject of disputes not only historians, but also politicians and ordinary people.
