Continuation of pre-school education (12 – 16 February)

From 12 February, declarations of continuing education can be submitted pre-school education. Declarations can be submitted until February 16, 2024. If the parent does not submit a declaration of continuation, the child is not provided with a place in a nursery school/preschool class in a primary school.

Parents of children currently attending kindergartens, preschool classes in a public primary school submit a written declarations of continuation of preschool education for the school year 2024/2025 kindergartens/schools attended by their children.

Kindergarten recruitment (19 February – 8 March)

From February 19 Recruitment to nursery schools run by by the City of Elk for new children. Applications for admission to a nursery school/class preschool education in the primary school may be submitted to the
8 March.

Children aged 3 to 6 participate in the recruitment process residing in the city of Ełk, who in the school year 2023/2024 do not attended public kindergartens.

If, after the recruitment procedure, public nursery schools still have vacancies, moves to supplementary proceedings.

How do I apply?

There are 2 ways to apply for admission nursery school/preschool class in the primary school:

- filling in the application electronically via the website online (a printout of the application is submitted to the institution to which the child applies application for admission),

- submitting a hand-filled paper application to the institution (an employee of the nursery school/school will enter the application into the system).

Electronic Selection System

The use of an electronic recruitment system makes it possible to fully use of seats.

Admissions to city-run kindergartens Ełk will also be held on
February 19 - March 8, 2024

On these days, the website will be made available dedicated to electronic recruitment. A guide will be available on the website containing the offer of nursery schools and preschool classes in schools; located in the city of Ełk.

Note: A parent's application completed through the website website is stored in the system. A parent with a paper version of the application Along with the required documents, he must necessarily go to the facility in person and confirm the application by 8 March 2024 at the latest.

Recruitment criteria

About the admission of a child to a nursery school/class preschool school is NOT decided by the order Only the criteria of the first and second stages of recruitment.

The recruitment procedure is conducted by the committee appointed by the head of the nursery school/primary school.

At the first stage of the recruitment procedure, the following are the following statutory criteria shall be taken into account:

1. the candidate's large family;

2. the candidate's disability;

3. disability of one of the candidate's parents;

4. disability of both parents of the candidate;

5. disability of the candidate's siblings;

6. single parenting in a family;

7. Taking the candidate into foster care.

Public pre-school institutions, may be get to every child and it does not matter where he or she lives, in what area of the city. There is no priority for admission of a child to a nursery school in of the county in which he resides. Region is therefore not one of the criteria scored by preschool institutions when assessing applications in the recruitment process; Preschoolers.

Exception: In connection with the that a child at the age of 6 is required to undergo a one-year preparatory preschool classes in a nursery school, a preschool class in a primary school (the so-called pre-school education) or another preschool education setting, then the child's path from nursery school, a preschool class in a primary school cannot be exceed – 3 km.
