Another year in which the local government of Ełk supports young parents

The city of Ełk in January signed contracts for the operation of the Antenatal School and Counselling Centre for the next year Lactation, located in the Specialist Outpatient Clinic at ul. Konopnicka 1. The services of the Childbirth School and Lactation Clinic are free of charge can be used by all residents of Ełk.
In order to meet the needs of the inhabitants of Ełk, the city for the following year, provided the opportunity to use the help of the Childbirth School and Lactation Clinic free of charge.
The following funds have been allocated for 2024:
- for the Birthing School – in the amount of PLN 42,000,
- for the Lactation Clinic – in the amount of PLN 60,000.
In the past 2023, the total number of participants in the Antenatal School was approx. 102 people, and as part of the Lactation Clinic in 2023, approx. 581 tips.
ANTENATAL SCHOOL – Advice is free of charge
As part of the Childbirth School, which has been operating since 2012. specialists help in theoretical and practical preparation for the birth of a child and overcoming the fear of future parents before childbirth. Classes are held at the Specialist Clinic at 1 Marii Konopnickiej Street.
Qualified staff, consisting of, among others, employees of the maternity ward and the maternity ward of the "Pro-Medica" Hospital in Ełk, provides knowledge in the field of, among others:
- the course of pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium,
- benefits of natural feeding of a newborn,
- care and care of a newborn,
- emotional difficulties after childbirth,
- the role of the father during pregnancy, childbirth and after childbirth.
LACTATION CLINIC – Advice is free of charge
Currently, telephone counselling is mainly provided. However, it is possible to make an appointment for an in-person appointment directly at Lactation Clinic.
The services of the Clinic can be used by women after childbirth and pregnant women who want to prepare for breastfeeding. Tips It is also provided by a neonatologist with special qualifications.
Classes are held at the Specialist Clinic at 1 Marii Konopnickiej Street, room 49.

- telephone consultations,
- stationary consultations at the Lactation Clinic.
