During the term of office of the councillors worked for the good of the local government community of Ełk by adopting resolutions, deciding on the directions of the city's development.

At the end of the meeting, President Tomasz Andrukiewicz thanked the Chairman of the City Council, Włodzimierz Szelążek and all Councillors for cooperation and joint problem solving for the benefit of inhabitants of Ełk.

The President noted that it was the longest term in history, which lasted 5.5 years, with the pandemic and the war on Ukraine, as well as the implementation of numerous investments and activities. Despite the difficulties, the work It was also held remotely, it was not interrupted even for a moment.

Local elections were to be held autumn 2023, i.e. after the end of the five-year term of office of the bodies of the local government. In view of the fact that in October last year parliamentary elections, the term of office of local government was extended by the Sejm, and The election has been postponed to April 2024.
