Visiting the sewage treatment plant in Nowa Wieś Ełcka

We will invite you school children and youth for a trip to PWiK in Nowa Wieś Ełka to present how sewage and sludge management is carried out in our city. Groups will be provided with access by MZK bus to PWiK and return to school.

April 24 (Wednesday)

Cleaning Up the World

Into We will invite educational institutions and non-governmental organizations from Ełk to participate in the campaign and informal groups. Participating in the Spring Cleanup is a good way to realizing that the neighborhood in which we live depends mainly on Ourselves. Participants will be provided with cleaning materials (gloves and bags), as well as provisions for the bonfire (sausages and bread).

April 25 (Thursday)

"You give away the rubbish - you get the tree" – Plac Jana Paul II, 12:30 p.m.

In Thursday, April 25 at John Paul II Square from 12:30 p.m. great handing over of tree seedlings. Anyone who brings with them E-waste will receive a sapling for it.

In as part of the eighth edition of the "You give away the garbage - you get the tree" campaign, the president Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz will donate 500 seedlings of spruces, pines, birches and oaks.

Idea action is to actively care for the environment and to remind how important it is to segregation, especially of e-waste, which contains numerous substances harmful and poisonous. However, the most important is the educational aspect, i.e. making residents aware that this type of waste must not be disposed of in the regular litter bin and should be handled in an appropriate manner.

One A tree seedling will be issued for 10 batteries or small electronic waste (phone, charger, computer mouse)

Every A participant can receive a maximum of two trees.

During during the seedling distribution campaign, there will be an opportunity to talk to an advisor Ełk City Hall on the "Clean Air" program. Anyone interested in receiving a subsidy for the replacement of a heat source and comprehensive thermal modernization will have the opportunity to consult an expert on principles of the Clean Air Programme.

Nature in the frame – meetings with Tomasz Kłosowski

Tomasz Kłosowski - journalist, formerly employed in the youth press, the host of television programs about nature, recently "Dzika Polska" program on TVP. For several decades he has been photographing Polish nature and landscape. Tomasz Kłosowski is a well-known and respected nature photographer and Journalist and popularizer of Polish nature. Together with Brother Grzegorz published several photo albums, including one about his beloved Biebrza and her wild inhabitants.

April 27 (Saturday)

Run for a seedling, 11:00 a.m.

Urban The Sports and Recreation Centre invites you to a run that will start at CEE, and The task of the participants will be to cover the designated route along the Ełk River promenade (running, walking, walking). Instead of medals, participants will receive seedlings of conifers.

April 28 (Sunday)

Family nature walk around Ełk

start: parking lot at the PoloMarket store at M.T. Kalkuty Street, 11:00 a.m.

Stroll around Ełk and the surrounding area, during which parents and children will learn listen and look at the surrounding nature. During the walk, we will observe the world of plants, fungi and lichens.
