Funding will be possible under the the regional program European Funds for Warmia and Mazury. The competition will be announced on July 25 and will last until September 3, 2024. Ełk has the possibility of co-financing investments for at the level of 90% (min. own contribution is only 10%).

The planned investment may be implemented in 2025-2026.

The scope of the project provides for the reconstruction of public infrastructure in the area of the river estuary Ełk for the development of recreational and tourist functions and the creation of a park recreation and leisure with a canoe marina.

The designed space will be intended primarily passive rest. The accent falls on the places of rest and the exposition of views from the shore of Lake Ełk. The main communication route leads to the view of the second the shore of the lake. The park project provides for partial preservation of the existing the nature of the area, i.e. a natural, open meadow with its typical vegetation – preserving existing biodiversity.

Action:

• Preparation of the area for the investment.

• Construction of a recreation and leisure park with a canoe marina at the mouth of the Ełk River (between PTTK and the City Center Environmental Education). Canoe pier with gangway without interfering with the line shore water. The pier can be dismantled for the winter period. On the pier should there is an element that allows mooring of mines. 6 kayaks.

• Park – pergola in the central part, Leisure gazebo for canoeists, Gabion terraces with seats made of wood composite, gabion benches around the designed greenery. Pedestrian routes in in the form of water-permeable paths, slabs  concrete and granite cubes.

• Planting greenery, trees and large shrubs (in autumn and spring)

• Construction of small architecture and park equipment, i.e. waste bins, dog waste bins, furniture in the form of benches and seats, bicycle racks.

• Lighting system adapted to existing lighting

• Monitoring system
