Local government The City of Ełk cooperates with non-governmental organizations, m.in. commissioning them performance of its statutory tasks. This year, 13 competitions were announced Deals. 174 offers and 62 offers were submitted in the non-competitive mode. Hitherto 180 grants with a total value of over PLN 5.5 million were allocated.

In As part of the above measures, ministerial Programmes of the Minister of Agriculture are also implemented Family and Social Policy "Personal assistant of a person with a disability" and "Respite care" financed by the Solidarity Fund.

Organizations non-governmental institutions carry out the tasks of the local government in the following areas:

• assurance safety above and on the water,

• education non-formal education for children and young people,

• education non-formal education of adults,

• prevention alcohol addiction,

• prevention drug addiction,

• assurance shelters for the homeless,

• service care and specialist care services,

• Specialized care services for people with mental disorders,

• assistant personal data of a disabled person,

• assurance meals for people in need,

• care respite,

• Supporting social activity of the inhabitants of Ełk,

• Supporting social activity of people with disabilities,

• Supporting social activity of the elderly,

• Supporting volunteer activities of the inhabitants of Ełk.

Total free funds (in competitions and non-competitive mode) is PLN 300 thousand.
