"Travels with Class" is a project Ministry of National Education aimed at supporting bodies administering school in the implementation of the task of preparing and carrying out the school trips. Awarded by the Minister in the form of subsidy, the funds are intended for the financing of trips from 2 to 5 days with funding from PLN 20,000 to PLN 50,000.

The aim of the project is to make the educational process of pupils by enabling them to learn about traditions, culture and achievements of Polish science. The project is to support the implementation of the core curricula for general education in primary schools and secondary education, as well as diversify educational activities, thanks to which learning will take on a practical dimension.

As a result of the recruitment for the new a project to finance school trips called "Travels with Class" in 2024. the governing body received 15 applications from Ełk Primary Schools and 4 applications from the School Complex Sports Schools in Ełk;

In the announced recruitments, the principle of "who the first, the better." In the first round of recruitment, the following was allocated for this purpose PLN 60 million, which was used within 12 minutes, and in the course of the the second round of the call for proposals, it was PLN 20 million, which was used during the 4 Minutes. The city of Ełk managed to introduce two applications.

In the first round of recruitment (19 June 2024) the Application from Primary School No. 7 with Integration Departments in Ełk for a two-day trip to the Science Center Experiment in Gdynia and the European Solidarity Centre in Gdańsk for the amount of 25 PLN 200 (including: co-financing from the programme in the amount of PLN 20,000 and a contribution from own in the amount of PLN 5,200). Status of the application in the SIO: Co-financed. At the current stage is the signing of the agreement for the implementation of the trip.

In the second round (22 July 2024) of the call for proposals application from the Danuta Siedzikówna "Inka" Primary School No. 2 in Ełk for a five-day trip to the Kudawa Zdrój Mineral Museum, Spa Park, Chapel of Skulls, Panorama of the Battle of Racławice, Toy Museum and a tour of the Fortress Kłodzko and the Gold Mine in Złoty Stok for the amount of PLN 54,000 (including: co-financing from the program in the amount of PLN 50,000 and own contribution in the amount of PLN 4,000) introduced into the system of the Ministry of National Education. Application status in the SIO: accepted. At the current stage we are waiting for the change of status to "co-financed" and the draft agreement on the the implementation of the trip.
