School scholarships are awarded to students residing in the city of Ełk in a difficult situation resulting from low per capita income in the family, in particular in the especially when the family has unemployment, disability, severe or long-term illness, many children, lack of ability to fill in the educational functions, alcoholism or drug addiction, as well as when the pupil or student comes from a single-parent family or a fortuitous event occurred.

Monthly income per capita in the pupil's family entitling them to apply for a school scholarship cannot be more than PLN 600 net.

The school scholarship is awarded in the form of reimbursement of the costs incurred, therefore there is a need to collect the personal bills and invoices (issued to the applicant) for the incurred costs for educational purposes for the student.

In the school year 2024/2025, invoices are valid behind:

• purchase textbooks and other school materials – from June 2024.
• Internet – from September 2024 to June 2025

Child benefit "800+", "300+", shielding allowance, energy voucher are not included in the family income with the determining the right to a school grant.

Applications should be submitted to the secretariat Municipal Social Welfare Center in Ełk until September 15, 2024 (Marsz. J. Piłsudskiego 8, 1st floor, room 12).

REMARK! In accordance with Resolution No. XLIII.430.2022 of the Council of the City of Ełk of 20 May 2022, the provision of material assistance of a non-financial (school scholarship, school allowance) from 1 January 2023 is provided by the Municipal Assistance Centre Social Welfare Centre (MOPS).

During the above-mentioned period 190 students from 97 families, 1 the pupil was granted a benefit in the form of school allowance.

In the year 2023/24 (period September 2023 – June 2024) was granted aid in the event of a school grant or school allowance to 190 pupils from 97 families, on the basis of the total amount of PLN 152,659.64.
