On September 17 at John Paul II Square from 12.30 p.m The transfer of tree seedlings will begin. Anyone who brings with them electronic waste, will receive a tree seedling for it. As part of the "Garbage you give it back - you get the tree" Mayor of the City of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz will donate 500 seedlings of spruces, pines, birches and maples.

The idea of the campaign is to actively care for the natural environment and reminding how important it is to segregate, especially electronic waste, which They contain numerous harmful and poisonous substances. However, the most important thing is educational aspect, i.e. making residents aware that this type of waste does not disposed of in a normal waste bin and should be handled in a the right way.

One tree seedling will be issued for 10 batteries or small electronic waste (phone, charger, computer mouse).

Each participant of the campaign can receive a maximum of two trees.

The action is organized by the Ełk City Hall for the 9th time. Into So far, the inhabitants of Ełk have received 4,000 trees.
