Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women in the world, accounting for 25% of the of all cancer cases and 14% of the causes of cancer death. In Poland, the incidence of breast cancer is increasing, especially among women over 50. 80% of patients. This highlights the importance of regular mammography tests, which allow for early detection of the disease.

Prevention breast cancer in Ełk

As part of the local preventive activities, in the "Pro-Medica" Hospital in Ełk there is a Mammography Laboratory, which implements the National Early Detection Program Breast cancer. The program is aimed at women aged 45 to 74. Research can be performed every 24 months, and in the case of patients after breast cancer treatment, – every 12 months.

Women's Race 2024 in Ełk

As part of the celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Ełk, there will also be a unique event – Women's Run 2024. This Sunday, October 20th, Ełk The Amazons Association together with the Ełk City Hall invite you to a run under the with the slogan: "I'm not boobing with cancer! I'm examining my breasts!". The event is covered by under the patronage of the President of the City of Ełk.

The run is open to everyone – women, men, youth and children. Start at 10:00 at the Environmental Education Center. Registration will be conducted on site from 9:20 a.m. The route from 1.8 km to 5.4 km can be covered in any way – running, walking, walking – what counts is participation and support for breast cancer prevention.

Once completed, at 11:00 a.m., we invite participants to a bonfire and free of charge consultations with the Ełk Amazons. At the end, there will be a draw gifts among the participants. Don't miss this special day!
