The new ladder will replace the worn-out SD-32 model based on the MAN TGM 15.280 chassis from Metz, which has supported rescue and firefighting operations for years. Thanks to modern features, such as a broken last span and a rescue basket with a lifting capacity of 500 kilograms, firefighters will be able to operate more efficiently, especially in hard-to-reach places.

The purchase of new equipment costs nearly PLN 4 million, which was financed from:

• co-financing under the Act on the Modernization of Services - PLN 3,450,000
• subsidy from the State Fire Service Headquarters - PLN 250,000
• budget of the City of Ełk - almost PLN 100,000
• funds of the Ełk County - PLN 200,000

The M42L-AS ladder is a new generation of equipment that enables quick and precise operations in crisis situations. Its advanced functions will allow firefighters to more effectively provide assistance during fires, evacuation from heights or other rescue operations.

The new equipment is not only a reinforcement for firefighters, but above all an increase in the level of safety for the residents of Ełk and the entire region.
