We would like to inform you that on March 11 this year the program of free castration of free-living cats living in the city of Ełk in 2025 r. The tender for the provision of veterinary services has been resolved and A contract with a veterinarian was signed. Castration of cats is very popular among people who have their fate is not indifferent. Thanks to castration, we prevent homelessness by preventing their uncontrolled reproduction.

Castration not only prevents their reproduction, but also has an impact on their health and reduces the risk of dangerous of life, diseases. Thanks to the procedure, cats can be healthier and live Longer. The action also raises the awareness of the inhabitants of Ełk in responsible and appropriate care of animals and their humane use of the Treatment.

What you need to do to use the free castration of a cat?

The condition for participation in the campaign is:

1. catching a free-living cat from the area of the city of Ełk (the action is aimed at cats without an owner, i.e. if the veterinarian finds that the veterinarian performing the the degree of its domestication, the person bringing the animal will be burdened veterinary procedure),
2. reporting (without the caught cat) to the City Hall Ełk to the Department of Municipal Property, room 244 for a referral for surgery castration of the cat. The service can be used in a veterinary office located in the city of Ełk, i.e. Katarzyna Gąsiorowska, Veterinarian from registered office at 34 Kajki Street in Ełk. Upon receipt of the referrals, you should make an appointment in the above-mentioned office,
3. After neutering, free-living cats are released in places where they were caught.

Applications will be accepted in order of order until the financial resources allocated for this purpose in the budget. In This year, PLN 44,300 gross was allocated for this purpose.

If the cat's health condition does not allow for Castration, the veterinarian has the right to refuse the procedure.
