The Civic Budget is a tool that allows residents to decide on projects and investments implemented in our city. The 2026 edition started on September 10. For a month, residents reported their project proposals. After the application evaluation procedure, we announce the list of 5 projects accepted for voting in the Ełk Civic Budget 2026! Voting will begin on November 11.

Residents' projects selected for voting:

1. READY FOR A CRISIS

Project type: Non-investment

The project assumes the implementation of educational and development program on pro-defense and psychophysical strengthening Youth. It is addressed to 100 students of Ełk secondary schools in the range of 15-19 years old. 40 students from the Team will have the opportunity to take part Schools of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, as originators and co-creators of the application, and Each other school will have 10 places.

2. Film Encounters with History - Patriotism for Teenagers, Parents and Grandparents

Project type: Non-investment

The project assumes the organization of a series of 11 monthly screenings of patriotic films in the Ełk Cultural Centre, addressed to families with children and teenagers. The aim of the initiative is to disseminate patriotic attitudes, build intergenerational ties and develop interest in Polish history and culture through an attractive form of cinema.

3. Construction of a playground in the Jeziorna housing estate

Project type: Investment

The project assumes the construction of a publicly accessible, urban playground for children, where there will be swings, rockers, equivalents for younger children, as well as cobwebs, fitness facilities for the elderly, musical or educational toys, facilities for disabled children, benches and greenery.

Estimated cost: 500 000 PLN

4. Open-air gym

Project type: Investment

The "outdoor gym" is a public physical activity zone, equipped with modern devices with an adjustable load from 2.5 kg to 220 kg, allowing you to adjust the intensity of exercise to individual needs. The investment includes the installation of a set of strength training equipment and pavement hardening. 

Estimated cost: 556 000 PLN

5. "Let's light up the holidays - let's vote for the shine Ełk!"

Project type: Investment

The project concerns the purchase of Christmas illuminations - modern, energy-efficient, which will please the eye of residents and guests.

Estimated cost: 200 000 PLN

How to vote?

1. Resident or a resident of the city of Ełk may cast one vote for an investment project and one vote for a non-investment project.

2. Resident or Residents can vote electronically on the https://elk.budzetobywatelski.pl/ or traditionally by paper ballot cards at the Office for Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations at 3/10 Małeckich Street Monday to Friday from 7.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

3. Fixing results consists in counting the votes for individual projects and their ranking from the project with the most votes to the project with the fewest Votes.

4. In the event of an equal number of votes, a public draw is held.

5. Projects whose total cost is not exceeds the amount provided for the Ełk civic budget in a given year Financial.

6. Winners List projects will be announced by 9 December 2025.
