The implementation of the "WORKATION as a cross-border tourism destination", for which the Municipality of Ełk has obtained co-financing from the European Union.

Goal project is to increase the recognition of the border area as a attractive tourist destination, reducing seasonality in the industry and to facilitate the efficient use of natural resources and values of the region for the development of tourist services.

Activities undertaken under the project aimed at promoting the joint tourist brands of the City of Ełk and Birštonas - based on the WORKATION concept (work + leisure).

The results of the project in the city of Ełk are:

- Online guide for the facilities sector accommodation facilities containing, m.in example, tips on adapting the facility to the remote work, as well as industry marketing (available on the website www.workation.elk.pl),

- brand promotion strategy Workation in the short term (during the project) and long-term after the completion of implementation, the document indicates the direction of further activities and is the foundation for the development of Ełk as a workation-friendly city,

- a short film promoting Ełk as a Workation-friendly city, for social media campaigns,

- Workation promotional campaign – Ełk as a cross-border tourist destination:

• in the media social media: posts and video spots - YouTube, Instagram, Facebook,
• in traditional media: audio spot on two radio stations and 2-page sponsored article in the lifestyle magazine MADE IN Warmia and Masuria,
• outdoor space: 2 billboards in Ełk, 2 in Olsztyn, 1 in Kaunas,

- website (www.workation.elk.pl) dedicated to the Workation brand, including m.in.: a video promoting Ełk as a place for remote work, information about the benefits of Workation, online guide for facilities accommodation that want to be "Workation friendly", as well as many other information for people interested in coming to Ełk,

- workshops for administration and employees tourist information – increasing knowledge about remote work (27-28.03.2025 in Birštonas), the workshops were attended by employees of the Ełk City Hall, MOSiR, CEE, ECK

- Promotional catalogue of the city Ełk in three language versions (PL, EN, LT) - available at www.workation.elk.pl

- equipment for brand promotion Workation during various events and parties: totem with portable power, equipment event furniture: tent, table, sofas-cushions,

- conference summarizing the project (6.11.2025, Ełk).
