The Ełk water tower was built in 1895 and is one of the of the most characteristic objects for our city. It used to supply the inhabitants of Ełk with water, now it serves only as a tourist attraction.
Inside the tower there is the Museum of Drops of Water, where there are old pumping machines, everyday objects from several decades ago and a gallery of historical photographs of Ełk from the beginning of the 20th century.
The tower is owned by the Association of the German National Minority "Mazury" in Ełk. According to the association, due to the ongoing renovation works, the Museum of Drops of Water remains closed until further notice.
