A local initiative is one of the forms of cooperation between residents and the local government, which allows for the joint implementation of public task - an undertaking that solves a specific problem, or satisfying a social need.

Today (28 May) in the Town Hall of Ełk signed There are 4 contracts left for the implementation of tasks under the local initiative:

1. "Ełk Cultural Summer 2026" - organization cultural activities through the organization and conduct of the Ełk Summer Cultural Forum 2026
City contribution: PLN
20,000 Residents' contribution: PLN 20,000

2. "Fairytale Playground" - modernization and equipment of the playground at the Municipal Kindergarten "Bajka" in Ełk
City contribution: PLN
60,000 Residents' contribution: PLN 2,000

3. "Modernization of the playground at Magazynowa Street" - modernization and equipment of the playground at Magazynowa Street in Ełk.
City contribution: PLN
35,000 Residents' contribution: PLN 3,000

4. "Green Zatorze" - urban development area in the congestion housing estate between Staszica and Sucharskiego streets in Ełk (greenery and small architecture devices)
City contribution: PLN
35,000 Residents' contribution: PLN
5,000

The total cost of Local Initiatives is PLN 180,000, including the city's contribution of PLN 150,000 and the contribution of residents of PLN 30,000.
