Since the beginning of this year, a total of 270 children have been born at the Pro-Medica Municipal Hospital in Ełk. Every birth is a great joy and a new chapter in the life of the family.

On the occasion of Children's Day, which falls today (1 June), the youngest patients of the Pro-Medica Hospital and their parents were visited by Iwona Adeszko, Director of the Municipal Public Library in Ełk and Tomasz Andrukiewicz, Mayor of the City of Ełk. This is a tradition that has been going on for many years. Parents receive small gifts and... books.

"In this way, we encourage mothers to read to their children from an early age and come to the library. - said the Mayor of Ełk, Tomasz Andrukiewicz.

The offer of the Municipal Public Library in Ełk is rich in proposals for the youngest residents of Ełk. For m.in, the Toddler Academy is very popular. 

-A book is a thing that should be from the beginning, before the child is born. It is worth reading to the tummy, to the baby already during pregnancy - says Iwona Adeszko, Director of the Municipal Public Library in Ełk.

Today, the Mayor of Ełk and the director of the library presented 6 of the youngest residents of Ełk. We hope that the first gifts will be a good start to the reading adventure.
