Mandatory helmets for children and teenagers up to 16 years of age
03 June 2026, Author: Mateusz Gałęski
From 3 June, the obligation to wear a protective helmet by people moving by bicycle, electric scooter or other personal transport device comes into force. The new regulations apply to people under 16 years of age.
The new regulations are aimed at unifying the rules concerning various means of transport and real improvement of the safety of the youngest road users.

Riding in a helmet reduces the risk of head injuries. However, it is worth remembering that even the best helmet does not replace:
- common sense,
- riding skills,
- maintaining proper speed,
- adult supervision.
