Municipality of Miasto Ełk will implement three new projects co-financed by EU funds entitled "New perspectives", "Together for the environment" and "Ring of culture in 2026-2027 as part of the Regional Grants competition for revitalization. A total of almost PLN 370,000 was obtained for the implementation of the projects.

Grants are co-financed under the Technical Assistance for European Funds 2021-2027 in 79.71% from EU funds under the European Development Fund and 20.29% from the state budget. The main goal is to support the City Ełk in the implementation of activities related to the involving the local community and socio-economic partners in the implementation of the Municipal Revitalization Program of Ełk. Preparations for the announcement are currently underway open competition for partners in individual projects.

1. The "New Perspectives" project is being implemented by MOPS and the Department of Social Policy

Objective:
Increase social inclusion and improving the safety of children and young people in the the area of revitalization of the City of Ełk through the implementation of preventive measures, educational and environmental issues:

• development of social and emotional competences of children and young people,
• increasing residents' awareness of counteracting violence,
• strengthening streetworkers' activities and environmental support,
• integrating residents through local activities (picnics, events),
• increasing the availability of support for people at risk of exclusion

Activities:

Project value PLN 150,000.00, EU funding PLN 119,565.00 and co-financing from the state budget of PLN 30,435.00.

2. Design "Together for the Environment" implemented by the Center for Environmental Education

Objectives Detailed:

1. Increasing the competences of residents in the field of planning and implementation of social activities and including the creation and maintenance of green areas and biodiversity and adaptation to climate change, through the implementation of the course "Act for the environment".
2. Increasing the number of bottom-up initiatives implemented by residents in the revitalisation area, through providing organisational and substantive support in the preparation and implementation of environmental and social measures.
3. Activation of residents through practical activities, enabling them to gain experience in the field of protection environment and urban space shaping, such as workshops activities, gardening activities, clean-up campaigns or initiatives to increase biodiversity.
4. Strengthening social integration and local cooperation through the implementation of intergenerational activities and building relations between residents, non-governmental organisations and institutions operating in the area of revitalization.
5. Increase infrastructure availability and utilization educational sector, by equipping the Centre Environmental Education into tools enabling activities to be carried out educational and practical activities, which will also be used after completion of the mini-project in work with residents.
6. Strengthening the participation of residents in creating the offer activities, through their active participation in the diagnosis of needs, design and implementation of educational and ecological activities, which will contribute to better aligning activities with local needs.
7. Increasing the ecological awareness of residents in terms of the importance of biodiversity, rainwater retention and the role of green spaces in reducing the effects of climate change and improving the quality of life in the city.

3. The "Ring Project" culture" implemented by the Ełk Cultural Centre

The aim of the project is to increase the social activity of the inhabitants of the Ełk revitalisation area through the development of support for grassroots initiatives and create the conditions for co-creation of cultural and social activities:

• Elevation competences of residents in the field of planning and implementation of activities through the organisation of a practical course.
• Increase the number of bottom-up socio-cultural initiatives implemented by the residents thanks to financed and organizational support.
• Reinforcement cooperation through joint activities, events and teamwork.
• Increase access to infrastructure and cultural resources through retrofitting and system for their reservation and sharing.
