A delegation from the twin city of Nettetal visited Ełk. Today (23 July), our partners from Germany, led by Mayor Christian Küster, not only get to know our city and observe completed investments. First of all, they take part in working meetings. The conversations go beyond traditional areas such as sports, culture or Infrastructure - security became a key point of discussion. This is the topic important for local governments throughout the European Union.

The visit is an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices. It is also a moment to talk about further cooperation - international exchanges, trips of athletes and people of culture, support non-governmental organizations and mutual learning.

Cooperation between the City of Elk and the City of Nettetal is already ongoing for 27 years. The first Declaration of Cooperation was signed on 24 August 1999.
