Soldiers representing the Battalion Battle Group Forward Presence of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization on Wednesday (19 August) visited the Town Hall of Ełk. In the meeting with the Mayor of Ełk, participation was taken by the current commander of NATO Battle Group Poland BC LTC Saxion Steve and CPT Hensley Tyler.

Currently, American soldiers are stationed in Masuria, Croatian, Romanian, English and German. The military emphasized that they are happy presence in Masuria – appreciate both the beauty of this region and the pleasant Welcome by the residents. They also assured of their readiness to take care of for safety and the willingness to actively engage in the life of the community.

The President of Ełk expressed satisfaction with the presence of NATO troops in the vicinity of our city and emphasized the importance of military-civilian cooperation. He pointed out that NATO is a very important guarantor of security and peace today. He also invited soldiers stationed in Masuria to actively participation in the life of the city.
