Beata Halicka, a culture expert, Professor at the University. Adam Mickiewicz, from 2013 works
in the German-Polish Research Institute at the Collegium Polonicum in Słubice, a joint unit
Research of Poznan University and the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder).
Between 2006-2014 she has taught cultural history of Central and Eastern Europe on EUV in Frankfurt (Oder),
and also, as a guest professor, at the University of Calgary (2014), Chicago (2015) and El Paso (2016).
For the book "Polish Wild West. Forced migrations and cultural Taming Oder 1945-48 "
She won in the best book category 2016 Identitas Historical Year.
Beata Halicka is the author of five monographs and numerous articles and editor of collective works.
Her research interests are:
cultural history of Central and Eastern Europe of the 19th and 20th centuries, the problems of nationalism and forced migration
in Europe, German-Polish relations, issues of identity. in border regions,
as well as the culture and politics of memory.
