This (9 October) morning, on the initiative of the Mayor of the City Ełk Ełk Meeting, on the current situation in schools and kindergartens run by the City of Ełk (primary schools, kindergartens, Sports School Complex). This is related to the recent worrying Events in Polish schools.

Directors of Ełk schools and kindergartens present at the meeting provided information on the current functioning of the facilities and the additional security measures.

Head of the Prevention Department of the District Police Headquarters in Ełk, Lt. Cmdr. Katarzyna Półbratek informed about the activities carried out by Ełk police officers. Uniformed officers increased their presence in the area of schools and kindergartens. They are also present on the premises where, in cooperation with directors are monitoring the situation. The directors were also informed about the ways and channels of efficient communication between the school and the service. Activities police is supported by the Municipal Guard in Ełk.

The Mayor of the City of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz and the Secretary Marcin Radziłowicz of the City of Ełk reminded about the obligations of institutions related to alert level BRAVO (whose procedures provide important support in the current situation) and the need to be vigilant and react promptly to any worrying occurrences and suspicious behaviour that should be reported to the Police.

The safety of children and young people is a priority of all municipal institutions, and the actions taken are of a preventive and preventive services. Uniformed services, schools and the City Hall Ełku remain in constant contact to ensure the safety of all Ełk students.

The meeting was attended by the principals of Ełk schools and kindergartens, the Mayor of the City of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz and his deputy Mirosław Hołubowicz, Secretary of the City of Ełk Marcin Radziłowicz, representatives of the District Police Headquarters and Municipal Guard in Ełk, Director of the Municipal Social Welfare Center Grażyna Chilińska and the Head of the Department of Education Małgorzata Pikus.
