Astronomical summer began today, i.e. June 21. Holidays, in turn, we will have from Friday 24 June. This is a period in which, especially on hot days, a lot of time we spend by the water: lake, river, sea. It is worth taking care of safety yours and loved ones. In Ełk there are two guarded bathing areas, i.e. at ul. Kolbego and at Parkowa Street. Rescuers are available from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Simultaneously The Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre reminds that in Ełk is available a specialized bathing trolley that facilitates transport on the beach and direct access to water for people with disabilities.

Let's also remember about drinking large amounts of water or drinks, so as not to allow dehydration Body. When exposing ourselves to the sun, e.g. when sunbathing, use creams with filter.

A few rules about which worth remembering:

Lakes, rivers

• Swim only in guarded places, i.e. where there is a WOPR rescuer
• Do not enter the water where bathing is prohibited
• Do not enter warmed up into the water. Before entering the water, splash it on your chest, neck and legs – you will avoid thermal shock, dangerous for our body
• Do not jump into the water in unknown places, it may end in death or disability
• Bathing on bathing areas pay attention to other people, someone may need your help
• Do not enter the water after drinking alcohol

Being in the sun

• Keep moderation in being in the sun
• Wear headgear
• Avoid effort in full sun
• Protect yourself in the shade in midday hours
