WWF Earth Hour campaign promoting the idea of protection The environment takes place around the world every last Saturday in March. In a symbolic gesture of concern for the future of our planet, in many homes, offices, buildings or public facilities, the lights are turned off for one hour.

As every year, the city of Ełk joins in Action and March 25 from 20.30-21.30 will be turned off illumination lights on the following public facilities:

• buildings of the Ełk City Hall at 2 Piłsudskiego Street and 4,
• building at 3 Małeckich Street,
• building of the Ełk Cultural Center,
• the building of the Art School,
• Water Tower,
• Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
• St. Adalbert's Cathedral,
• road bridge on Zamkowa Street,
• pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Elk River.

Residents can support the initiative by turning off the lights for one hour in homes and Apartments.
