PLN 12.2 million for Ełk for 5 electric buses and infrastructure for their charging

The City of Ełk obtained PLN 12.2 million through a competition subsidies from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Economy Water. The funds will be used to purchase five electric buses and the necessary infrastructure for vehicle charging. Yesterday, the president of Elk Tomasz Andrukiewicz signed a contract for co-financing the project in Warsaw.

Thanks The money from the subsidy will be purchased 5 modern electric buses. Vehicles will be low-floor, air-conditioned, will transport up to 70 passengers, but most importantly they will be zero-emission.

As part of the project, 3 chargers will also be purchased stationary for powering vehicles (1 single-station charger and 2 two-station chargers), which will be installed on the premises of Miejskie Zakład Komunikacji Sp. z o.o. in Elk. This will enable the launch of 5 bus charging points. In The project also plans to train drivers and mechanics in the field of operation vehicle and maintenance and maintenance.

If the manufacturer and Bus supplier is the first three buses to be delivered by March 2024, and the entire order is to be completed at the end of 2024.

The co-financing agreement was signed on 12 April in Warsaw: Vice President of the Management Board of NFOŚiGW Artur Michalski and President of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz, in the presence of the city treasurer Jarosław Wróbel. On invitation of the NFOŚiGW Management Board in the meeting also participated by deputies to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland from the province Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship: Iwona Arent and Wojciech Kossakowski.

The city of Ełk has been consistently for years modernizes the fleet of city buses, purchasing modern powered vehicles Ecological. In 2019-2021, the city purchased 8 hybrid buses (3 buses were received in November 2019, 3 more in September 2020 and 2 in September 2021).
