Ełk self-government annually organizes educational and health meetings.

As part of the forthcoming On the occasion of World Health Day, which falls on 7 April, in our city took place prophylactic and educational meetings for 3rd and 4th grade students secondary schools. Theme meetings was cancer prevention.

The event was hosted by the President Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz, who initiated its organization.

The meetings were led by Dr. Łukasz Durajski – a paediatrician, a frequent guest of a number of programmes TV, author of the blog "Doktorek Radzi" and the first guide for parents written by a pediatrician "Your Child's Health".

The meetings took place on March 1 in the Sports School Complex in Ełk and on March 22 at the Ełk Social Revitalization Center "STAJNIA". Participants took part in a debate aimed at broadening their knowledge in the field of prevention Cancer.

Another event at the Ełk Revitalization Center The Social Conference will be held on Wednesday, April 3, entitled "The Art of Listening, the Art of Speaking. How communicate effectively with students/adolescents?"

The meeting will be moderated by Joanna Durlik - psychologist, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist in the course of associated with the Institute of Psychology of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw. For many years he has been popularize psychological knowledge by conducting workshops and trainings in Poland and abroad.

Goal event is to raise awareness among the public, in particular human resources working with children and adolescents in the field of young people's addictions. Meeting will be an opportunity to exchange experiences on contacts with contemporary as well as identifying opportunities for support and assistance.
