At the seat of the City Hall on September 10 2024, a meeting of the Advisory Group on Reducing the Burden of Environmental Pressure was held and social dialogue. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ełk councillors, residents, the Inter-Municipal Association "Economy Komunalna" and representatives of P.G.O "Eko Mazury".

The President of EKO Mazury sp. z o.o. informed about operating in 24-hour mode. From August 27, the installation burned over 20 thousand cubic meters of landfill gas. However, as He pointed out - this is not the target installation. Horizontal installation is planned degassing at various levels throughout the landfill site. Execution such installation requires several months: you need to make a design, choose appropriate installation and carry out the tendering procedure. Reported also about the completion of works on the curtain reducing the nuisance of odors. The currently made part will be 450 meters long and its acceptance will take place in September.

There was also a meeting of representatives of the of the Board of the Inter-Municipal Association with Professor Andrzej Kulig from the University of Technology Warsaw University from the Department of Environmental Protection and Management. This expert indicated representatives of residents from the advisory group. Among the areas of research and didactic work of the Professor are m.in research on the objects of the economy waste in terms of emissions of microbiological pollutants and including odorants (environmental olfactometry), and the effects of the and acoustic performance.

As a city, we will certainly be in the future cooperate with the Professor and the department he heads in the field of monitoring and testing of odour emissions and the actions to be taken by the so that these emissions do not have a burdensome impact on the residents of Ełk.

On 16 September, a meeting was held Assembly of the Inter-Municipal Association "Gospodarka Komunalna" in Siedliska in of the PGO building. One of the points of the meeting was the expert's discussion from the waste management industry, Rafał Lewicki, Ph.D. (invited to the cooperation by the company) of proposals for activities in PGO "Eko - MAZURY" in reduction of odour nuisance. The expert confirmed the correctness of the solutions adopted and implemented by the Company.
